Objective
ISO/IEC17025:2005 the General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories jointly published by International Standardization Organization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is the criteria used by international accreditation organizations like CNAS, UKAS and HKAS etc to perform on-site assessment on laboratories (including preliminary, expansion, monitoring and re-assessment). What a laboratory should do to meet the requirements of ISO/IEC17025 criteria, ensure the preciseness and reliability of the testing results, and pass the accreditation by external organizations successfully?
As an important tool for laboratory management, internal audit is essential for proper running and self-improvement of a laboratory’s quality management system by defining problems in time. Establishing a qualified team of internal auditors will ensure the effective implementation of preventive and corrective measures, and maintain continuous improvement of the laboratory quality management system.
